Amicable Settlement Chambers.

On 24 and 25 March 2026, Helena De Backer once again took part in a high-level training program organized by the Judicial Training Institute in Brussels.

The program was designed for judges interested in serving within a Chamber for Amicable Settlement (KMS/CRA).

This forward‑looking initiative plays a key role in advancing alternative dispute resolution methods.

Judges today do more than apply the law — they act as facilitators of dialogue, assisting parties in reaching an amicable agreement within the KMS/CRA, referring them to mediation when appropriate, and guiding them toward the most effective path to resolving their disputes.
